ResQ Rent A Car's Self Reliant Car Rental (SRR) scheme with the Sale & Buy-back (SBB) option are designed as less expensive alternatives to conventional long term car rental.

In addition, these options enable less restrictive travel to most neighboring countries which otherwise are not permitted in terms of normal car hire / car rental terms and conditions.

• Foreign nationals staying on extended temporary professional/occupational postings/assignments or community service volunteers.
• Local residents planning on emigration, wanting to dispose of local assets including own vehicles, without sacrificing mobility in the winding up period.
• Term projects where basic vehicles are required for periods shorter than conventional short term leases.
• An inexpensive alternative to new cars if the period is longer than normal, but the terminal date uncertain.
• An alternative to leasing which is normally available on new vehicles only.
• Individuals/businesses/projects requiring inexpensive transport at a predictable cost with the ability to accurately control the terminal date.

• Substantial savings over conventional car rental.
• The return/terminal date of the vehicle is entirely within control of Client or Buyer.
• Optional service and maintenance agreement for peace of mind.
• Evaluation period at standard rental rates and conditions available, before committing to a SRR or SBB agreement. 7 days of rental charges are free, if SRR of SBB agreement is enacted.
• Less restrictive travel to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mocambique, Swaziland and Lesotho permitted.

1. The client is afforded an evaluation period of 7 days during which the subject vehicle may be rented with an option to enact a SRR agreement, subject to standard rental terms and conditions applicable to the vehicle.
2. If the Client approves of the vehicle, Client may enter into a SRR- or SBB agreement with ResQ, in terms of which, the Client pays for the full price of the vehicle (NRV deposit in case of a SRR or selling price in case of SBB, and assumes full responsibility for all expenses associated with owning such a vehicle.
3. The Client or Buyer assumes full responsibility for the vehicle, including all running expenses during the currency of the SRR or SBB agreement. Service and maintenance expenses can be eliminated by including a service and maintenance agreement.
4. ResQ agrees to receive the same vehicle back from the Client or Buyer on a predetermined date, or subject to 30 days written notice and within 18 months of the commencement date of the SRR agreement or SBB agreement, and refund the original NRV deposit or selling price, less:
   • A discount from the NRV deposit or original purchase price, calculated as the greater amount of:
     • 2.5 % of the NRV deposit or original purchase price, per month or part of a month that the vehicle will be rented by the client,
     • 20 % of the NRV deposit, and
     • R 7500

   • All refurbishment- and any other expenses that ResQ may have incurred on behalf of the Client or Buyer during the currency of the agreement.
5. In the event of a SRR agreement, the Client will be entitled to convert the SRR agreement to a Purchase agreement (with-, or without buy-back option) at any stage during the currency of the agreement, at no additional charge.
